Vintage door

I went treasure hunting in a friend's barn a couple months ago.  My mission was to find some aged wood, particularly barnwood.  It was a successful treasure hunt in more than one way.
I got some barnwood -- and this treasure...

At the time, I wasn't sure what I would do with this beauty.  With some subtle urging from my friend, and hesitant looks from Mr. D, I carefully loaded this baby into the van.
Ideas were brewing.

Did I mention the door was a bright kelly green when I found it?

I'm curious.
What would you do with this door/window?

I might like your ideas better than mine!

Post Script:
As Katie mentioned in her comments -- I could use the door in some way for the wedding.  Which, is the direction I was leaning -- but I don't want to rule out other options either!

  1. FUN! I am still trying to figure out what to do with the 6 double pane windows I scored LAST spring(as in '10) that are still sitting in my garage.

  2. I think it would be cute to use for the wedding. People could use it as a photo opportunity and place their heads in the opening. It might be kinda cute. It's just the first idea that popped into my head. Must be that a lot of your posts have to do with the wedding :)

  3. Put glass in the middle and turn it into a coffee table :)

  4. Cheri I had the same idea as Katie. I sent you a few pictures in your email of a wall that someone had at their OUTDOOR wedding. They have frames on a wall and the peeps stand behind the wall so they are inside the frame. You could use the same concept only with the door. Checkout the pictures I sent you to see what you think. 5. You could use it for escort cards. String ribbon or string from side to side in the opening and use clips/clothes pins to hang the escort card. If escort cards aren't being used, insert a piece of thin wood (temporary or permanent) painted black and use it as a "guest book" with white markers or use chalk paint and write a message of some sort on it. Such a great piece. How cool would it be to have a guest book that you could use to decorate your house! LOVE this door!

  6. I'd make it a headboard for a bed!
