Dusk

While we were in St. Louis we visited
Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery

we went to visit my mother-in-love's gravesite
and to take in the beauty of this final resting place
for those who have served our country (and their spouses).

Sitting on the banks of the Mississippi River,
this National Cemetery is serene -
 and evokes many emotions

and a great sense of pride

Civil War soldiers to present day heroes

buried together
their battles over.

  3. I have to say being there conjures up a sense of pride in not just those who have served but seeing my Grandpa there made me very proud, of him and my country :)
