Monday, Monday...blogging on my lunch hour. Nate and Danae got home early this morning....their flight was delayed in DC by all the rain/lightening they didn't get home until 1:00 a.m. Kirk drove to airport to bring a van full of the kids he had a very late night. I barely slept waiting for we are all a bit sluggish today.
Last night at 10 pm (just before Kirk left for airport) his sister called to tell us that dad is in the hospital! His neighbor noticed that his lawn mower was out in the driveway (dad never leaves anything out) and that the garage was open late at night. When the neighbor went in the garage he saw a 3 foot circle puddle of blood on the floor. Then he went in the house through the garage and called for dad.....and heard from another room....."I'm in here, I need help". Ambulance called. Dad had cut his leg with the string trimmer....he said blood was spurting out of his leg!!! The best guess is he had been bleeding for 3-4 hours. Why he didn't call for help is still a mystery. They kept him overnight in the hospital....they found he has an infection....unrelated to the injury! Sandy was in the ER until 5am this morning. We are very thankful she is there for dad. ...thank you Sandy!

  1. scary about kirk's dad. I'm glad he's OK. Sounds like it's time for one of those button's they hang around their neck, to get help.....thank goodness for observant neighbors :)

Glad the kids are home safe and sound.
